We are here to support and restore ecosystems on a localized basis and educating people on how to be great stewards of their land so that BOTH human and all life that reside there can thrive within this regenerative paradigm.

It all started for me with horses. By combining a lifetime of knowledge and interests ranging from, but not exclusive to Horses, riding dressage, Earth Sciences, Ecology, Soil Sciences and Agriculture, along with trying to make a positive difference to our wellbeing and that of our planet, this combination has become magical. By assembling this knowledge base and continuously adding to it, it has become clear to me that nothing stands alone. If we look at things as intricate systems and see the connections between them, we can see that just like in communities, everything needs everything else for something or another.

In the past century or so, we have seen things as individual, stand alone components. Just look at how we have divided the human body into medical specialties, ignoring the interconnectedness of the systems. In agriculture we have viewed animals in much the same way, in a mechanical way of parts, and soils as inert and only having chemical systems. Happily there seems to be a change in this tide and as we look deeper, we can see that healthy soil microbiology leads to healthy animals, humans and entire systems.  The more connections and reverence for these systems that you can see and enhance, the stronger the entire whole becomes. This is win win for the planet and all organisms that reside in her ecosystems.

ONLINE COURSES

O1. Fundamental Principles of Healthy Farm Ecosystem Management & Proper Design

  • We have adapted the workshop into a modularization, live, on line format so that you can join us from the comfort of your home. This is a comprehensive look at what makes a healthy farm ecosystem and why it is vitally important to build and maintain this. You will be given the basics on what your horses (stock) and lands natural needs are and how to begin managing for the betterment of all. The results of implementing these ideas can lead to better health and well-being of the animals and lower input costs for the human. This is a three week course with two evening sessions a week. Sessions will be recorded and made available for viewing should you miss the scheduled lesson. There will also be a PDF workbook made available to you so that you can get maximum gains from this material. The last session will be a Q & A to ensure that your questions on these materials have been adequately answered.

  • This course is scheduled to launch in September 2024 if there is enough interest. Please reach out if you are interested in, or planning to attend so that we can get you on the list.

  • This course will be offered for $500 CDN +gst

    Join us from the comfort of your own home for and participate in a vibrant community of like minded, curious people who KNOW that they are part of the change and CAN make a difference!

  • Contact us via e-mail or messenger on our Facebook page for more information and to get onto the list of interested people. It will be kept to a small number of participants to allow for personal interaction facilitating stronger learning. Enrolment will be on a first come first serve basis.

  • This is a live on line course that builds on the Fundamental principles of Healthy Farm Ecosystem Management and Proper Design course. This course provides you with, and gets you thinking about, some valuable permaculture design theories and ideas to help you in developing your personal design of your horse property. We will provide you with a workbook to help you organize and develop your criteria and ideas for YOUR best design. Following the course, every participant will be given a half hour zoom call to review their personal design and get some feedback.

  • This course will follow he Fundamental principles of Healthy Farm Ecosystem Management and Proper Design course, which is a prerequisite as it is a natural progresson based on the fundamental concepts. O2. Advanced Planning & Design

Have you ever wondered…

  • Short pastures are overgrazed and in response to this stress, have a higher sugar content as they are trying to regrow leaf. The answer is in to surface and replenish root reserves.

Our services range from online, in person to one-on-one consults as well as lab services. We are here to meet the unique needs of your land and project.

  • Workshops are a great in person learning experience with hands on learning and demos. Bring your friends together to learn and start building a supportive community in your area.

  • We can come and do a consultation on your property. This will provide you with feedback and suggestions on what you can feasibly improve or retrofit for your current setup.

    Doing a new build? We would love to give you ideas to improve efficiencies and lower your inputs in the planning stages to help you prevent mistakes that are expensive and sometimes even impossible to recover from. We believe that drudgery is a failure to plan.

    Although not a comprehensive plan, these services come complete with a written report of what was discussed and suggested.

  • We are currently in the process of becoming certified as a ssoil food web lab. In the meantime, we will be happy to diret you to a lab that is already up and running.

  • We guide you through the process and help you to design a permaculture principle based plan for your property. This is the most comprehensive package and will give you a detailed plan customized to your property and your needs. This will help to ensure maximum health of your ecosystem for maximum production.

Our offerings are meant to serve you

  • The courses offer and extensive overview of the basic concepts and science to give you the tools to see your land with different eyes and begin to make a new and improved management plan.

  • Workshops are an in person dive into the same subjects as the course, in a group and hands on learning style. There will be opportunity to begin the planning of all the participants properties and collective brainstorming to help to cement the concepts.

  • The soil testing lab is anticipated to be up and running in the spring of 2024. It will be a resource to have your soil biology analysed to see how you are making progress and what issues may need addressing.

  • Pasture consult is an informal look at your property and will help to guide you in making improvements for the overall efficiecy and productivity of your set up. Need more? We can also step it up a notch and help you with a long term planning design.
